About Me

My Photo
Hi, I'm Vivian and I'm a uni student obsessed with fitness and food (I know, it doesn't exactly go hand-in-hand). I'll have my "no eating out" times and my "I deserve to try new food" moments. I'm on a mission to try new places, mainly around the Adelaide CBD, on a student budget. Rarely you'll be seeing expensive, fine dining on my blog, but that's an occasional thing. I have a lot of posts on Sydney restaurants too, because that's where I spend all my holidays. Read on for my pictures and opinions on the food Adelaide has to offer! Got something on your mind? Sahara Restaurant

On New Years Eve of 2012, I spent the better half of the day with my close girlfriends, watching Les Miserables (which is a fantastic motion picture film, if you haven't had the chance to watch it yourself). Of course, it wouldn't make sense to not take advantage of the chance to experience a new restaurant for lunch

Sahara turkish restaurant & cafe grill was the winner, with their lunch special of the $12 gozleme (a choice between baby spinach & feta, or chicken & mushroom) and side salad.

Chicken & mushroom gozleme with side salad - $12.00

Baby spinach & feta gozleme with side salad - $12.00

One of the reasons why I just love eating with these girls is that when it comes to choosing food, I always get the best of both worlds. Being able to eat both spinach & feta, and chicken & mushroom gozlemes, I found that I just could not choose between the two in term of which was better. The spinach & feta was definitely more flavoursome, however that could overwhelm the tastebuds after a while. The chicken & mushroom had less of a flavour hit, but it was perfect to neutralise the spinach & feta gozleme. All in all, both were a delight to eat, and the servings were overly generous! I left the restaurant on a full stomach, and am keen on returning to take advantage of another lunchtime special sometimes in the near future!

  1. Haha don't we all look so great? ;)
It was my first time having Turkish and to be honest, I actually quite liked it despite the hatred of cheeeese. I preferred the chicken and mushroom gozlemes cause the spinach and feta was a bit too overwhelming for me (that I didn't even dare to try it ..LOL)

Anyway, this is the post I posted with your link!
