About Me

My Photo
Hi, I'm Vivian and I'm a uni student obsessed with fitness and food (I know, it doesn't exactly go hand-in-hand). I'll have my "no eating out" times and my "I deserve to try new food" moments. I'm on a mission to try new places, mainly around the Adelaide CBD, on a student budget. Rarely you'll be seeing expensive, fine dining on my blog, but that's an occasional thing. I have a lot of posts on Sydney restaurants too, because that's where I spend all my holidays. Read on for my pictures and opinions on the food Adelaide has to offer! Got something on your mind? San Churro

Do you see a trend happening here? Even without my conscious knowledge, it seems as though San Churro just happens to be one of my favourite hangouts for moments with the closest friends. First it was at Bondi Beach, followed by Darling Harbour, and this stop happens to be at Parramatta!

Choosing what to order is always going to be the most difficult task. Something light or something more substantial. Thanks to Liana's Italian Restaurant filling up our stomachs during dinner, we all settled on a drink.

Let me apologise in advance for the poor quality of these following images. Despite my camera flash, the dim lighting of the cafe was of no help to these photos.

Classic Spanish Hot Chocolate - $5.95

I have a little story regarding this little hot chocolate. The first time that I had encountered it, I had been to a dinner just beforehand, and had had some Long Island Ice Teas. Alcohol may not affect my behaviour, but it surely affected my taste buds, as I came to find out when my Classic Spanish Hot Chocolate ended up tasting strongly of alcohol. Hence, I had no idea whether the hot chocolate was any good.

Thankfully, on this occasion, I was given the chance to re-live the experience of this Classic Spanish once more. And boy, was it a great idea to re-order it again, as the very first sip confirmed to me that it doesn't actually taste anything like alcohol, and that it was absolutely perfect. It had this thick consistency unlike anything I've ever experienced before in a hot chocolate. I suppose being a Spanish hot chocolate, it was meant to be different, but I've tried Spanish hot chocolates at other cafes before and none of them have even come close to the level of perfect that is in this cute little mug.

Two of the girls ordered the Avellana, which is similar to the Classic Spanish except with the flavour of hot chocolate. When choosing which to order, I was thrown into a state of frenzy between the Classic Spanish and the Avellana. Only upon the advice of the waitress did I choose the Classic Spanish, and thankfully so, because a sip from my friend's mug confirmed that it was not as delightfully tasty as my hot chocolate.

 Hot & Cold Chocolate - $6.95

Have you ever had to choose between a hot or cold drink and you just had no clue as to what you wanted? Well this Hot & Cold Chocolate is for you. Described as "a steaming classic cooled down with a succulent scoop of white chocolate ice-cream", it is a real treat to have! Although it wasn't my order on this occasion, I have had it before, and it is definitely worth a try if you're in for a hot chocolate with a twist.

 Mango Tango - $7.95

This "white couverture chocolate with mango sorbet" received nothing but praises from Anna, who had apparently made the right decision in giving this one a try. Perhaps I should choose one of the chocolate shakes in the future.
