About Me

My Photo
Hi, I'm Vivian and I'm a uni student obsessed with fitness and food (I know, it doesn't exactly go hand-in-hand). I'll have my "no eating out" times and my "I deserve to try new food" moments. I'm on a mission to try new places, mainly around the Adelaide CBD, on a student budget. Rarely you'll be seeing expensive, fine dining on my blog, but that's an occasional thing. I have a lot of posts on Sydney restaurants too, because that's where I spend all my holidays. Read on for my pictures and opinions on the food Adelaide has to offer! Got something on your mind? Moo Gourmet Burgers

I've been dying for an excuse to eat the burgers here for ages! When one of my girlfriends was in town visiting Sydney, I had the girls walk down to Bondi Beach for some of these famous burgers!

Set right on the forefront of Bondi Beach, this small burger joint has a relaxing atmosphere, further reinforced by the sweet pictures of cows drawn by children, covering its walls.

I go through a lot of different phases in my life, and I've recently decided I wanted to eat vegetarian as much as I possibly could. I'm not going to commit to being fully vegetarian, because I just love my share of meat too much. However, today I choose to settle for the vegetarian Lentil Burger, consisting of "lentil, walnut, fresh herb & garlic patty, sliced avocado, cucumber, rocket, home-made aioli & chilli jam ".

 Lentil Burger - $14.50

At $14.50 for an average sized burger, I expected something sensational. To my utmost disappointment, I got a burger that was plain, boring and healthy-tasting (and I do not mean that as a compliment - rather, this is to say that it didn't have the kick that a gourmet burger should have). It did a good job of filling me up, but doing so satisfactorily is an area upon which Moo Gourmet Burgers require improvement.

 Bacon & Egg Burger - $8.50,  Onion Rings - $4.50

Our Sydney visitor, Ying, ordered the Bacon & Egg Burger, consisting of "free range egg, free range bacon, baby spinach, home-made mayonnaise & tomato relish", along with a side server of onion rings. She had positive feedbacks regarding both.

Falafel Burger - $14.50

Manisha ordered another type of vegetarian burger - the Falafel Burger, consisting of "falafel, tomato, mixed leaf lettuce, hummus, tzatziki & home-made chilli jam served on the side". We both had no clue as to what falafel even was, but Manisha told me her brother insisted that it was tasty. She thoroughly enjoyed her burger, so perhaps I should have taken into account her brother's recommendation prior to deciding on my burger.

Alright, I have a confession - this is most likely my first time ever eating a gourmet burger (in other words, not a burger from a fast food joint). I had so much difficulty handling the burger - little bits of fillings fell out of the burger and (luckily) only my plate. I really don't think burgers are really my thing, but I'm interested in giving Moo Gourmet Burgers another go next time I'm around the area.

  1. I've eaten Moo Burger twice and both times have been wonderful. Some of my friends often ask for forks and knives to eat their burgers with, as to avoid the mess.

  2. That's a good idea. I think the fork and knife didn't cross my mind due to the fact that the burger looked HUGE. But I will take into account your advice and give it a go next time! Thank you!!
