About Me

My Photo
Hi, I'm Vivian and I'm a uni student obsessed with fitness and food (I know, it doesn't exactly go hand-in-hand). I'll have my "no eating out" times and my "I deserve to try new food" moments. I'm on a mission to try new places, mainly around the Adelaide CBD, on a student budget. Rarely you'll be seeing expensive, fine dining on my blog, but that's an occasional thing. I have a lot of posts on Sydney restaurants too, because that's where I spend all my holidays. Read on for my pictures and opinions on the food Adelaide has to offer! Got something on your mind? Steven ter Horst

On the same day that Raoul and I dined at Pira Thai Cuisine, after our delicious Thai dinner we walked off our dinners down the road to... a well-known dessert store, Steven ter Horst.

I chose this place because of the many praises given to it by not only other food blogs, but also university friends, one of whom recommended I try the Hazelnut Heaven.

Raoul and I chose one each, so we could share two different ones. We chose two, although we thought they would be similar - boy were we wrong! Even though the texture were the same, each had their own distinctive taste which made them both incredible experiences on their own.

 Hazelnut Heaven - $8.50

Marscapone Dream - $8.50

I have nothing but praises for these two desserts. I honestly can't describe how it felt to eat those - I'm not kidding when I say that it sent ripples of pleasure through my mouth. If I had to choose which was better, I would easily vote for the Hazelnut Heaven (not because I chose it) as it had more of a chocolate hit - it awoken all my taste buds and had them craving more! The Marscapone Dream was lovely too, but I thought it was a bit safe compared to the Hazelnut Heaven.

The desserts left Raoul and I smiling gleefully! It was an incredible experience and the most perfect way to end a beautiful night!

  2. The Hazelnut Heaven is the bomb diggity and is my favourite amongst all the desserts at STH. That's not to say that the others aren't great, but this one always hits the spot! Glad you liked it as well! :)

  3. I'm very new to Steven Ter Horst, so I'm keen to try all their other cakes sometimes in the near future! Do you have any other recommendations?
